En la presente investigación se analizó el proceso de adopción de e-commerce en las pymes y cómo los marketplaces influyen en la adopción del comercio electrónico transfronterizo desde la perspectiva de la teoría de las capacidades dinámicas de gestión. Se usó como metodología cualitativa, el estudio de caso múltiple, el método comparativo y el método Delphi. Los hallazgos sugieren que las empresas pueden iniciar por adoptar las herramientas de comercio digital de fácil uso, y conforme ganan experiencia, podrán adoptar tecnologías y estrategias más avanzadas. Los marketplaces internacionales facilitan la labor para exportar paquetes de pequeño volumen y bajo valor, por lo que apalancarse en los servicios que brindan dichas plataformas, es una gran alternativa. Como conclusión, se recomienda a los directores de pymes contar con la disposición y compromiso para mejorar sus propias capacidades, pero, en especial, deben centrarse en la creación de capacidades organizacionales dentro de sus empresas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract SMEs in developing countries have low participation in exports, however, information technologies through international marketplaces have reduced the problems they face in exporting. This paper analyzes the process of ecommerce adoption in SMEs and how marketplaces influence the adoption of cross-border e-commerce from the perspective of the theory of dynamic managerial capabilities. The multiple case study and the Delphi method are used as qualitative methodology. The findings suggest that companies can start by adopting easy-to-use digital commerce tools and as they gain experience, they will be able to adopt more advanced technologies and strategies. International marketplaces facilitate the work to export small volume and low value packages, so leveraging the services provided by these platforms is a great alternative. As a conclusion, SME managers are recommended to have the willingness and commitment to improve their own capabilities, but they should focus on building organizational capabilities within their companies.]]></p></abstract>
