Para se responder aos anseios científicos destacados, optou-se por uma pesquisa de método qualitativo baseada em investigação bibliográfica e documental, tendo como instrumento um estudo de caso acerca do destino Foz do Iguaçu. Buscou-se então, estabelecer uma compreensão da temática das Percepções Turísticas e os paradoxos do Real e Imaginário, sob o aspecto das influências da comunicação nas representações e percepções dos destinos turísticos, segundo alguns atores envolvidos no processo turístico: comunidade local diretamente envolvida com a atividade turística, demanda turística real e potencial. Por não buscar somente a confirmação de hipóteses previamente estabelecidas, tratou-se de um estudo exploratório. Desta forma, apresentou-se considerações a respeito das situações encontradas, destacando a importância das políticas de qualidade e inclusão da comunidade local nesse processo e propondo-se a continuidade e aprofundamento do estudo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: En este artículo se examinan las cuestiones relativas a la relación de comunicación/percepción y las reflexiones de la imagen del destino turístico. Para responder a las aspiraciones científicas pendientes, se decidió por método de investigación cualitativa basada en la investigación y la documentación bibliográfica, con el instrumento del estudio de caso sobre el destino Foz de Iguazú. Se pretende establecer entonces una comprensión del tema de Percepción de Turismo y las paradojas de lo real e imaginario, desde el aspecto de la comunicación que influye en las representaciones y percepciones de los destinos turísticos. De acuerdo con algunas partes interesadas en el proceso de turismo: comunidad local directamente involucrados con el turismo, la demanda turística real y potencial. No sólo buscan la confirmación de las hipótesis establecidas previamente, lo que fue un estudio exploratorio. Por lo tanto, presentó consideraciones respecto a las encontradas situaciones, poniendo de relieve la importancia de las políticas y la inclusión de la comunidad, sitio en este proceso de calidad y proponiendo la continuidad y profundización del estudio.]]></p></abstract>
