La elección adecuada del agente y la monitorización constante son clave para garantizar la seguridad del paciente y una recuperación exitosa.  Objetivo:  Identificar cambios en el estado hemodinámico del paciente sometido a procedimiento endoscópico bajo sedoanalgesia con remifentanilo comparado con fentanilo.  Material y métodos:  Se realizó un estudio tipo observacional, analítico, retrospectivo de pacientes sometidos a procedimiento endoscópico bajo sedoanalgesia con remifentanilo o fentanilo en el periodo enero 2021 a diciembre 2022. Se extrajo información de interés incluyendo Ramsay, presión arterial, frecuencia cardiaca, respiratoria y saturación de oxígeno previo a la sedoanalgesia y posterior hasta el egreso. Se realizó un análisis estadístico descriptivo e inferencial. Un valor de p &lt; 0.05 se consideró significativo.  Resultados:  Se incluyeron 121 pacientes, de los cuales 28 recibieron remifentanilo y 92 recibieron fentanilo para brindarles sedoanalgesia para colonoscopia y panendoscopia. La presión arterial fue significativamente menor en quienes recibieron remifentanilo que en los que recibieron fentanilo a los 5 minutos posteriores a su administración. Sin otras diferencias significativas. La incidencia de hipotensión en el grupo R fue 7.1% y en el grupo F fue 2.2% (p = 0.436). Mientras la incidencia de hipertensión durante el procedimiento fue de 3.6% en el grupo R y de 3.6% en el grupo F (p = 0.468).  Conclusión:  El remifentanilo y el fentanilo presentaron un perfil similar de eficacia sedante y seguridad similar.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract:  Introduction:  Sedation and analgesia are essential in endoscopic procedures, but it is crucial to consider the cardiovascular effects of the agents used. Appropriate agent selection and ongoing monitoring are key to ensuring patient safety and a successful recovery.  Objective:  To identify changes in the hemodynamic status of the patient undergoing endoscopic procedure under sedation-analgesia with remifentanil compared to fentanyl.  Material and methods:  An observational, analytical, retrospective study was carried out on patients who underwent an endoscopic procedure under sedation-analgesia with remifentanil or fentanyl in the period January 2021 to December 2022. Information of interest was extracted, including Ramsay blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation before sedation and subsequent until discharge. A descriptive and inferential statistical analysis was performed. A value of p &lt; 0.05 was considered significant.  Results:  121 patients were included, of which 28 received remifentanil, and 92 received fentanyl to provide sedation for colonoscopy and panendoscopy. Blood pressure was significantly lower in those who received remifentanil than in those who received fentanyl at 5 minutes after administration-no other significant differences.
