Objetivo:  describir los resultados obtenidos en ensayos donde se aplicó estimulación magnética transcraneal a pacientes con ASD.  Material y métodos:  se realizó una revisión sistemática en las bases de datos PubMed y Google Académico, se seleccionaron estudios de 2017 a 2022, con población diagnosticada con ASD según los criterios del DSM-IV y DSM-V, sin comorbilidad y bajo tratamiento farmacológico/conductual. Debido a la heterogeneidad de los estudios, únicamente se empleó estadística descriptiva.  Resultados:  se seleccionaron siete estudios que cumplieron los criterios de selección. Hubo resultados con mejoría en cuatro estudios y sin cambio en tres. No obstante, los resultados no son concluyentes.  Conclusión:  los individuos con mayor nivel de disfuncionalidad son los que más reaccionan beneficiosamente ante la estimulación magnética transcraneal (TMS, por sus siglas en inglés) en funciones ejecutivas y en la función adaptativa, pero es necesario realizar más estudios para comprobar sus efectos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract:  Introduction:  transcranial magnetic stimulation has been implemented to treat repetitive behaviors in autism spectrum disorder (ASD). However, there is no consensus on clinical parameters and outcomes.  Objective:  describe the results obtained in trials where transcranial magnetic stimulation was applied to patients with ASD.  Material and methods:  a systematic review was performed in PubMed and Google Academic databases; studies were selected from 2017 to 2022, with the population diagnosed with ASD according to DSM-IV and DSM-V criteria without comorbidity and under pharmacological/behavioral treatment. Due to the heterogeneity of the studies, only descriptive statistics were used.  Results:  seven studies that met the selection criteria were selected. There were results with improvement in four studies and three with no change. However, the results are not conclusive.  Conclusion:  individuals with a higher level of dysfunctionality react more beneficially to TMS in executive and adaptive functions, but more studies are needed to verify its effects.]]></p></abstract>
