Sólo el 33% de los casos con trombosis venosa proximal se resuelven mediante anticoagulación. En este artículo, se presentan técnicas de venoplastias y &#8220;stenting&#8221; venoso, así como el material para recanalizar oclusiones crónicas del sistema venoso profundo en sectores iliocavos, iliofemorales y femoropoplíteos. La terapia endovascular representa actualmente una herramienta fundamental para el tratamiento del síndrome postrombótico, ya que se trata de un procedimiento mínimamente invasivo, seguro y comprobado. Sin embargo, esta terapéutica requiere alto entrenamiento por parte del subespecialista.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Post-thrombotic syndrome causes a decreased quality of life in patients who suffer from it. Only 33% of the cases with proximal vein thrombosis are solved through anticoagulation. In this article, venoplasty techniques and venous &#8220;stenting&#8221; are presented, as well as the material for recanalization of chronic occlusions of the deep venous system in iliocaval, iliofemoral and femoropopliteal sectors. Endovascular therapy currently represents a fundamental tool for the treatment of post-thrombotic syndrome, as it is a minimally invasive, safe and proven procedure. However, this therapy requires highly trained subspecialists.]]></p></abstract>
