Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo describir las características clínicas bucales de pacientes pediátricos con amelogénesis imperfecta. se realizó una serie de casos, con una muestra no aleatoria intencional de seis niños en edades comprendidas entre ocho a 13 años que acudieron a la consulta privada en busca de solución por malestar en apariencia estética. El tipo de amelogénesis imperfecta más encontrado fue la tipo hipoplásico. La AI tiene como característica clínica que es una afección del esmalte tipo cuantitativo o cualitativa con cambios de color y textura, afectando en su mayoría a todos los dientes y cumpliendo un patrón genético.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The Amelogenesis imperfecta (AI) is a genetic abnormality that affects the structure of tooth enamel and can lead to problems with sensitivity, dental esthetics, and function, as well as psychological alterations in self-esteem and self-image. The study of the AI genetic regulation allows for a better understanding of its pathogenesis. This research aimed to describe the oral clinical characteristics of pediatric patients with AI. A case series was formed from a nonrandomized convenience sample of 6 children aged 8 to 13 years who attended the private practice for concern about dental esthetics. The most prevalent AI was the hypoplastic type. AI is a quantitative or qualitative enamel disorder that produces changes in tooth color and texture; it affects mostly all teeth and shows a genetic pattern.]]></p></abstract>
