Cincuenta y cinco conductos radiculares de dientes humanos extraídos fueron preparados utilizando el sistema K3® VTVT. Se dividieron todos los especímenes en cinco grupos y fueron obturados (15 para AH Plus®, 15 para EndoRez®, 15 para GuttaFlow®, 5 controles positivos y 5 controles negativos). Después de cumplido un período de 2 semanas para permitir el endurecimiento de los materiales, todos los especímenes fueron sometidos a un termociclado de 100 ciclos, luego las raíces fueron cubiertas con dos capas de barniz de uñas, excepto para el área alrededor del foramen apical. Posteriormente los especímenes fueron sumergidos en una solución de azul de metileno al 2% durante 7, 15 y 30 días. Después de cada período se midió la microfiltración. El porcentaje de penetración a los 7 días fue: EndoRez® 1.5 mm ± 0.36, GuttaFlow® 1.24 mm ± 0.24 y AH Plus® 2.08 mm ± 0.37. A los 15 días fue: EndoRez® 2.34 mm ± 0.29, GuttaFlow® 1.86 mm ± 0.11 y AH Plus® 2.00 ± 0.15. A los 30 días fue: EndoRez® 2.52 ± 0.28, GuttaFlow® 2.08 mm ± 0.25 y AH Plus® 2.02 mm ± 0.22. Sólo existieron diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre el AH Plus® y el Gutta-Flow® a los 7 días (p &lt; 0.05). De acuerdo a los resultados obtenidos en este estudio, el GuttaFlow® mostró tener la menor microfiltración a los 7 y 15 días; mientras que a los 30 días el AH Plus® mostró una menor microfiltración.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The purpose of this study was to compare the microleakage among three systems for sealing of root canals. Fifty five root canals of extracted human teeth were prepared using the K3® VTVT system. The specimens were divided in five groups and then they were filled (15 for AH Plus®, 15 for EndoRez®, 15 for GuttaFlow®, 5 positive controls and 5 negative controls). After 2 weeks, the time when all the materials were completely hard, all the specimens passed through a thermocycling process of 100 cycles, then the roots were covered with 2 layers of nail polish, except on the area around the apical foramen. Subsequently the specimens were immersed on a solution of 2% methylene blue during 7, 15 and 30 days. After each period the microleakage was measured. The percentages of penetration in 7 days were: EndoRez® 1.5 mm ± 0.36, GuttaFlow® 1.24 mm ± 0.24 and AH Plus® 2.08 mm ± 0.37. In 15 days the results were: EndoRez® 2.34 mm ± 0.29, GuttaFlow® 1.86 mm ± 0.11 and AH Plus® 2.00 ± 0.15. In 30 days the results were: EndoRez® 2.52 ± 0.28, Gutta-Flow® 2.08 mm ± 0.25 and AH Plus® 2.02 mm ± 0.22. Significative statistical differences were founded only between AH Plus® and the GuttaFlow® in 7 days (p &lt; 0.05). According to the results obtained in the present study, GuttaFlow® showed the lower mi-croleakage in 7 and 15 days, while in 30 days AH Plus® showed a lower microleakage.]]></p></abstract>
