Metodología Se desarrolló un instrumento con un enfoque integral de la evaluación docente, tomando en &#1089;u&#1077;nta el perfil del egresado. A partir de la revisión de la literatura se generó un banco de ítems que miden la docencia efectiva en la enseñanza clínica odontológica, se seleccionaron los ítems que fueron considerados más importantes tanto por alumnos como por docentes. También se midió la importancia que los alumnos dan a cada ítem. Durante la aplicación final del instrumento participaron 402 estudiantes que realizaron 1,206 cuestionarios para evaluar a 86 docentes. Evaluamos la validez y la confiabilidad del cuestionario.  Resultados Las puntuaciones de las diferentes dimensiones de la enseñanza clínica odontológica efectiva se asociaron con los indicadores globales del cuestionario (p &lt; 0.01), que con los resultados del análisis factorial indican un fuerte criterio de validez. La confiabilidad se evaluó a través de examinar la consistencia interna de las subescalas con la escala general del instrumento (alfa de Cronbach = 0.9631).  Conclusión Se desarrolló un instrumento válido y confiable para evaluar a los docentes de la clínica odontológica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Objective To elaborate and validate a questionnaire to measure the concept of effective teaching in the dental clinic.  Methods An instrument with an integral approach of the educational evaluation was developed, considering the characteristics of the graduates. From literature review, a group of items that measure teaching effectiveness in dental clinic was generated, items considered more important by students and professors were selected. Also, the importance that students give to each item was measured. During the final application of the instrument 402 students participated, who filled 1,206 questionnaires, evaluating 86 professors. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire was evaluated.  Results The different dimensions from effective dental clinical education scores were associated with global Indicators (p &lt; 0.01), and together with the results of the factorial analysis, they indicate a strong validity criterion. The reliability was evaluated through examining internal consistency of the subscales with the general scale of the instrument (Cronbach alpha's = 0.9631).  Conclusion A valid and reliable Instrument was developed to evaluate the professors in the dental clinic.]]></p></abstract>
