El objetivo de este trabajo fue determinar cualitativamente el grado de expresión de los anticuerpos, vitronectina, fibronectina y queratina, de las lesiones con el diagnóstico histopatológico de mixomas odontogénicos y el folículo dental humano. Se seleccionaron los expedientes del Laboratorio de Patología Experimental de la División de Estudios de Posgrado e Investigación de la Facultad de Odontología (UNAM), en un periodo de 14 años, localizando 20 cubos con el diagnóstico de mixoma odontogénico y 2 cubos de folículo dental humano como control. Se realizó la técnica de inmunohistoquímica indirecta para determinar la presencia de estas proteínas. La inmunolocalización reveló una intensa expresión de fibronectina (85%) y vitronectina (90%), asociada al estroma de la neoplasia y estructuras celulares así como al porcentaje de expresión de queratina (55%).]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Odontogenic myxoma is a low prevalence, benign neoplasia occurring in the maxillae normally associated with teeth which have not come through or which were never present. The objective of this study was to determine the presence of antibodies, vitronectin, fibronectin and keratin in the extra-cellular matrix of odontogenic myxoma and dental follicles. The files of the experimental Pathology Laboratory of the postgraduate and Research Division of the School of Dentistry at UNAM, over a period of 14 years, were studied, and 20 specimens of odontogenic myxoma and 2 of human dental follicles, as control, were found for processing using histomorphological analysis. Immunolocation revealed intense presence of fibronectin and vitronectin associated with the stroma of the tumour and cellular structures. It should be noted that a high percentage of the lesions studied showed keratin.]]></p></abstract>
