Anger can be triggered when we feel upset by movies, and those more realistic as videos of the internet can be even more arousing. Measures can be obtained to estimate synchronous participation between two brain areas during the processing of emotions.  Objective: We compare brain activity in response to fictional visual stimuli taken from a movie bank versus real internet videos.  Methods: We recorded subjective responses, and electrophysiological parameters to compare the functional connectivity patterns of 26 young women divided into two groups.  Results: Results showed differences of functional connectivity revealed a characteristic pattern associated with each type of video observed, with an increased electroencephalographic (EEG) correlation during observation of the internet videos and a decreased EEG correlation while watching the movie clips, between frontal and temporal regions in slow and fast bands.  Conclusion: Functional connectivity EEG analysis, together with the subjetive physiological assessment, allow for a closer approach to the study of the cognitive processing of emotions.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  Antecedentes: Cuando se experimenta una emoción se presenta una evaluación personal del estímulo, así como una respuesta fisiológica basada en exposiciones previas. La ira puede producirse al sentirnos molestos ante la visualización de estímulos como películas. Cuando éstos son más realistas (por ejemplo, vídeos en Internet), la activación puede ser mayor.Se pueden obtener mediciones para estimar la participación sincrónica entre áreas cerebrales durante el procesamiento emocional.  Objetivo: Se comparó la actividad cerebral en respuesta a estímulos visuales ficticios tomados de un banco de películas comparado con vídeos reales tomados de internet.  Métodos: Se registraron las respuestas subjetivas y parámetros electrofisiológicos para comparar los patrones de conectividad funcional de 26 mujeres jóvenes divididas en dos grupos.  Resultados: Los resultados muestran diferencias en la conectividad funcional revelando un patrón característico para cada estímulo, con un incremento en la correlación EEG durante la observación de los vídeos de internet y un decremento durante la observación de las películas entre regiones frontotemporales en bandas lentas y rápidas.  Conclusiones: El análisis de la conectividad funcional electroencefalográfica, en conjunto con la evaluación fisiológica, nos brinda una mejor aproximación al estudio del procesamiento cognitivo de las emociones.]]></p></abstract>
