El proceso de fusión de polvos se llevo a cabo a 1350°C. Los vidrios obtenidos fueron de color ámbar, gris y negro; cabe mencionar que los vidrios más transparentes son los que contienen una proporción de 60 a 65% en peso de V<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub>y 40 a 35% en peso de wollastonita. Los patrones de difracción de rayos X revelan que hay wollastonita-2M y una fase cristalina ortorrómbica que puede atribuirse a VO<sub>2</sub>. FT-IR y espectroscopia Raman muestran la presencia de grupos metavanadatos y pirovanadatos. Por otro lado, en microscopia electrónica de barrido se detecta separación de fase goticular debido a inmiscibilidad líquido-líquido. El análisis por XPS del pico V 2p<sub>3/2</sub>y su ajuste mostró la presencia de iones V<sup>4+</sup> y V<sup>5+</sup> en todos los vidrios. Además se realizo el análisis del pico O 1s para estimar la relación de oxígenos puente y no puente.</p>]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[<p>Wollastonite from Encarnación Villa Juárez deposit located in Hidalgo, Mexico was used as raw material to fabricate glass using V<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub> as former oxide. Powder fusion at 1350°C was carried out for glass fabrication. The obtained glasses were of amber, gray and black color; the most transparent glasses are those with a composition of 60 to 65% wt. of V<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub>and 40 to 35 % wt. of wollastonite. XRD patterns of the samples show the presence of wollastonite-2M and the VO<sub>2</sub>orthorhombic crystalline phase. FT-IR and Raman spectroscopies revealed the formation of metavanadates and pirovanadates groups. In addition, drop of phase separation caused by liquid-liquid immiscibility was observed by scanning electron microscopy imaging. XPS analysis was carried out to analyze vanadium oxidation state and bonding and non-bonding oxygen estimation. The curve fitting of the high resolution spectra of the V 2p<sub>3/2</sub> peak showed the presence of V<sup>4+</sup> and V<sup>5+</sup> vanadium oxidation states for all glasses.</p>]]></p></abstract>
