Se formaron grupos con 4 diferentes dietas de hidratación. Los animales fueron sometidos durante 30 días a las dietas establecidas y a extracciones de sangre, para determinar valores de eritrocitos, hematocritos y concentración de hemoglobina. El consumo de la bebida fortificada por las ratas madre permitió valores medios significativamente mayores de hemoglobina y hematocritos en el plasma al cabo de los 30 días de tratamiento, además de un aumento mayor de la talla y peso de las crías. El modelo de von Bertalanffy describió adecuadamente los datos de peso y longitud de las ratas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[A minimally processed pineapple juice added with micro- and nanocapsules of folic acid (FA) were designed and it was used as vehicle for ingestion of FA in an experimental model using Wistar rats. The rats were allocated into four groups and fed four different hydration diets for 30 days. Blood samples were collected after feeding to determine the erythrocyte, hematocrit count and hemoglobin concentration. Consumption of micro- and nanocapsules of folic-acid-fortifieded juice for 350 days resulted in significant increases in plasma hemoglobin concentrations and hematocrit, as well as increased size and weight gain of the offspring.
