Derivado de la aplicación de una encuesta a una muestra probabilística de 405 estudiantes, se realizó un estudio exploratorio que, a través de una estrategia cuantitativa, identificó el nivel de desarrollo de las CSE, las interrelaciones empíricas entre las nueve dimensiones estudiadas y las variables relevantes en el proceso de desarrollo de las CSE. Los resultados identifican diferencias de género en su desarrollo, así como la relevancia de la expresión, la autoeficacia y la empatía como predecesoras de la condición optimista de los estudiantes. Estos resultados deben orientar los procesos de formación en competencias socioemocionales dentro del currículo escolar. Este artículo es de interés para los líderes de organismos educativos y los especialistas en el tema.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ Abstract This article presents the results of a research that evaluated the socio-emotional competencies (CSE) of high school and university at the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN). Derived from the application of a survey to a probabilistic sample of 405 students, an exploratory study was carried out that, through a quantitative strategy, identified their level of development, the empirical inte-rrelationships between the nine dimensions studied and the relevant variables in the CSE development process. The results identify gender differences in their development, as well as the relevance of expression, self-efficacy and empathy as predecessors of their optimistic condition of students. These results should guide the training processes in socio-emotional competencies within the school curriculum. This article is of interest to leaders of educational organizations and specialists on the subject.]]></p></abstract>
