A partir de una situación de aprendizaje, consistente en decidir entre dos juegos aleatorios con dados, se estudia la relación entre el pensamiento proporcional y el pensamiento probabilístico, considerando tres estados para el pensamiento proporcional y tres tipos de pensamiento probabilístico. Bajo el enfoque de un estudio de casos instrumental, se analizan las decisiones y argumentos de estudiantes de secundaria chilenos. Los resultados indican que existen relaciones tanto beneficiosas como perjudiciales entre el pensamiento proporcional y el probabilístico, y que las dificultades en la determinación de probabilidades no necesariamente obedecen a la ausencia del uso de proporciones. Se recomienda una enseñanza que considere la argumentación y el aprendizaje del espacio muestral para encauzar el uso de recursos intuitivos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Making decisions is a daily act in the human being, to greater uncertainty more difficult it is to decide. From a learning situation, consisting of deciding between two random games with dices, the relationship between proportional thinking and probabilistic thinking is studied, considering three states for proportional thinking and three types of probabilistic thinking. Under the focus of an instrumental case study, the decisions and arguments of Chilean high school students are analyzed. The results indicate that there are both beneficial and harmful relationships between proportional and probabilistic thinking, and that the difficulties in determining probabilities are not necessarily due to the absence of the use of proportions. A teaching that considers argumentation and learning of the sample space is recommended to channel the use of intuitive resources.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo Tomar decisões é um ato diário no ser humano, quanto maior a incerteza, mais difícil é decidir. Em uma situação de aprendizado, que consiste em decidir entre dois jogos aleatórios com dados, estuda-se a relação entre pensamento proporcional e pensamento probabilístico, três estados específicos para pensamento proporcional e três tipos de pensamento probabilístico. Sob o foco de um estudo de caso instrumental, são analisados argumentos de estudantes chilenos do ensino médio. Os resultados indicam que existem relações benéficas e prejudiciais entre o pensamento proporcional e o probabilístico, e que as dificuldades na determinação das probabilidades não se devem necessariamente à ausência do uso de proporções. Recomenda-se o ensino que considera a argumentação e o aprendizado do espaço de amostra para canalizar o uso de recursos intuitivos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[Résumé Prendre des décisions est un acte quotidien de l&#8217;être humain, plus l&#8217;incertitude est grande est plus difficile décider. A partir d&#8217;une situation d&#8217;apprentissage, consistant à choisir entre deux jeux aléatoires avec dés, on étudie la relation entre la pensée proportionnelle et la pensée probabiliste, considérant trois états spécifiques de la pensée proportionnelle et trois types de pensée probabiliste. Sous l&#8217;approche d&#8217;une étude de cas instrumentale, on analyse les décisions et les arguments des lycéens chiliens. Les résultats indiquent qu&#8217;il existe des relations à la fois bénéfiques et néfastes entre la pensée proportionnelle et probabiliste, et que les difficultés à déterminer les probabilités ne sont pas nécessairement dues à l&#8217;absence d&#8217;utilisation des proportions. Nous recommandons un enseignement qui tient compte de l&#8217;argumentation et l&#8217;apprentissage de l&#8217;espace échantillon afin de canaliser l&#8217;utilisation des ressources intuitives.]]></p></abstract>
