Se sigue un paradigma cualitativo basado en una perspectiva etnográfica del análisis del lenguaje empleado por los sujetos para reaccionar y construir significados vinculados a la experiencia de aprendizaje. Se analizan los productos generados por 20 maestros en formación en el área del idioma inglés que convivieron con un escritor chicano. Cada lector fue capaz de interpretar y dar sentido a la actividad a través de diversos géneros de escritura. Los estudiantes establecieron una conexión personal con el autor que permitió un intercambio de emociones, recursos lingüísticos e interpretaciones que atribuyeron un valor significativo al entendimiento cultural. Se concluye que el enfoque de literacidad coadyuvó a la formación de lectores críticos y creativos dispuestos a vivir la experiencia de transformar sus propias ideas y creencias.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This study analyzes the meanings generated by the reader with the use of a didactic approach which considers the parallel interaction of cultural literacy, the author and his literary proposal framed in a specific cultural model. The study follows a qualitative paradigm under the ethnographic perspective of the analysis of the language used by the subjects to react and build meanings through the learning experience. The reflections of 20 pre-service teachers were analyzed and it was found out that every reader was capable of giving meaning using different genres. Students established a personal connection with the author which allowed for an exchange of emotions, linguistic resources and interpretations that provided a meaningful value to the cultural understanding. It was concluded that the literacy approach helped in the education of critical and creative readers willing to live the experience of transforming their own ideas and beliefs.]]></p></abstract>
