De hecho, referirse a la regulación en plural es reconocer esas leyes, reglas y políticas concretas que constituyen los instrumentos legales mediante los que se regula a las personas. Pero creo que sería un error entender todas las maneras en las que se regula el género en términos de esas instancias empíricas legales, porque las normas que gobiernan esas regulaciones van más allá de las mismas instancias en las que toman forma. Por otra parte, sería igualmente problemático hablar de la regulación del género en abstracto, como si las instancias empíricas sólo ejemplificaran una operación de poder que tiene lugar independientemente de esas instancias.]]></p></abstract>
