<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1405-77432021000400104&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1405-77432021000400104&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1405-77432021000400104&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: El objetivo del presente trabajo fue determinar la resistencia mecánica de tres adhesivos comerciales (marca Comex, marca Resistol 850 y marca Resistol 950) de uso común en las industrias de muebles tradicionales ubicadas en la región oriente del estado de Michoacán. Se formuló el modelo experimental que se ajustara lo más posible a lo que realizaban en la mayoría de las empresas visitadas. El ensayo de resistencia mecánica se realizó en apego a la norma ASTM D-5751 y, bajo esta, se midieron tres tiempos de prensado (acorde a la referencia que manejan en las empresas de muebles). Las propiedades fisicoquímicas de los adhesivos comerciales determinadas fueron: el contenido de sólidos, la viscosidad, el pH y la densidad. Con base en los resultados de la resistencia mecánica y de las propiedades fisicoquímicas del adhesivo, se esclareció el coeficiente de correlación que existe entre ambos. Los resultados mostraron que, para los tres tiempos de prensado, los valores más altos de resistencia mecánica los presentó el adhesivo marca Resistol 850 y los valores más bajos fueron del adhesivo marca Comex. Con un 95 % de confiabilidad (P&gt;0.05), se encontró que las varianzas de las poblaciones de la resistencia mecánica en las tres marcas de adhesivo son diferentes en al menos un valor para los tiempos de prensado de 6 y 8 h. Los resultados de las pruebas fisicoquímicas (pH, densidad y sólidos) mostraron que solo el adhesivo Resistol 850 se encontraba dentro de los rangos reportados por la marca, mientras que los valores de la viscosidad en las tres marcas de adhesivos estaban dentro de los rangos reportados. Para los tres adhesivos estudiados, se encontró que existe una correlación lineal de 0.9695 entre el contenido de sólidos y la resistencia mecánica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The aim of this work was to found out the mechanical strength of three commercial adhesives (Comex brand, Resistol 850 and Resistol 950 brand) usually used in traditional furniture industries located in the eastern region of the state of Michoacán. The experimental model was adjusted as much as possible to what was done in most of the companies visited. The mechanical strength test was made according to the ASTM D-5751 standard and three pressing times were measured (according to furniture companies performance). The physicochemical properties of the comercial adhesives were determined: solid content, viscosity, pH and density. Both the mechanical strength and the physicochemical properties adhesives results were compared to obtain their correlation. For the three pressing times, the highest values of the mechanical strenght were presented by the Resistol 850 adhesive and the lowest values by Comex adhesive. It was found, with a 95 % reliability (P&gt; 0.05), the variances of the populations of mechanical strength in the three types of adhesive are different by at least one value for the pressing times of 6 and 8 h. The results of the physicochemical tests (pH, density and solids) showed that just the Resistol 850 adhesive was within the ranges reported, while the viscosity values were within the ranges reported for the three adhesives. For the three adhesives studied, a correlation of 0.9695 between the solid content and the mechanics strength was found.]]></p></abstract>
