<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1405-77432018000300267&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1405-77432018000300267&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1405-77432018000300267&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Se presenta un estudio sobre características fundamentales, parámetros básicos y algunas aplicaciones de los motores sincrónicos de reluctancia asistidos por imanes permanentes (PMa-SynRM), controlados por accionamientos de frecuencia variable (AFV) para cargas centrífugas, que posibilitan el ahorro. Se compararon las características de los PMa-SynRM (considerando distintos tipos de imanes), los motores sincrónicos de reluctancia (SynRM) y los motores de jaula (IM), evaluando las ventajas y limitaciones que presentan los primeros. Se partió de una explicación básica de los SynRM, porque de otra forma, se dificulta comprender los PMaSynRM. El estudio teórico del PMa-SynRM se complementó comparando 3 conjuntos a corriente constante, demostrándose las ventajas de estos en factor de potencia, momento y potencia nominales. Se encontró que el rizado de momento del PMa-SynRM, aunque elevado y mayor que el del SynRM, es menor que el del IM. A partir de valores de la literatura y de cálculos de los autores, se compararon AFV-SynRM con AFV-PMa-SynRM (empleando imanes de tierras raras y de ferrita). Se evidenciaron las ventajas del AFV-PMa-SynRM en eficiencia, factor de potencia y momento. Se elaboró un estudio de caso en una empresa, de sustitución de un conjunto AFV-IM por uno con PMa-SynRM demostrándose, con el empleo de técnicas de descuento, la notable ventaja económica de este último, dada fundamentalmente por el menor AFV requerido.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract A study on the fundamental characteristics, basic parameters, and some applications of permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance motors (PMa-SynRM), controlled by variable frequency drives (AFV) for centrifugal loads, is presented. This system facilitates savings. PMa-SynRM (considering different types of magnets), synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) and induction motors (IM) were compared, assessing advantages and limitations of the first. The study starts with a basic explanation of the SynRM because otherwise, the understanding of the PMa-SynRM may be difficult. The theoretical analysis of the PMa-SynRM was complemented with a comparison at constant current of the three systems, making clear the advantages of this machine in power factor, torque and output power in rated conditions. It was found that the studied motor ripple torque is higher than that of the SynRM, but is less than in the case of the IM. Using literature values and authors calculations, AFV-SynRM was compared with AFV-PMa-SynRM (using rare earth and ferrite magnets). The advantages of the AFV-PMa-SynRM in efficiency, power factor and torque was made clear. A case study in an enterprise of the replacement of an AFV-IM by an AFV-PMa-SynRM was elaborated. It was demonstrated by employing discount technics, the remarkable economic advantage of the last one, given basically by the smaller AFV required.]]></p></abstract>
