Mediante un diseño cualitativo exploratorio e interpretativo de estudio de caso longitudinal, se documentan las experiencias de dos estudiantes chilenas en un programa doctoral en Educación. Los resultados constatan que las participantes enfrentaron crisis y negociaciones identitarias a raíz del contraste entre las posibilidades de &#8220;ser&#8221; disponibles en el nuevo contexto y los valores sobre la escritura académica previamente desarrollados.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article is based on the research question: What identity negotiation processes do doctoral students reveal as they become familiar with new academic practices during their first two years in the program? Through an exploratory/interpretive design of a longitudinal case study of a qualitative nature, the experiences of two Chilean students in a doctoral program in education were documented. The results show that the participants faced identity negotiations and crisis due to the contrast between the available possibilities of "being" in the new context, and the previously developed values of academic writing.]]></p></abstract>
