Se aprecia cómo actualmente la apuesta universitaria se ha vuelto más costosa e incierta y por ello menos atractiva para los estudiantes de clases populares. Consideramos que esto se relaciona con la caída en el censo universitario que se ha ido registrando tras la implementación, en 2012, de nuevas políticas universitarias. En cualquier caso, no parece que las nuevas condiciones ayuden a resolver los problemas de eficiencia e inequidad del sistema universitario en España.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Based on the qualitative analysis of discourse of working-class students, we addressed their experiences as university students in the Spanish context, where important changes have affected the conditions of entering and remaining in the university. We observed that attending a university has become more costly and uncertain, and therefore less attractive for working-class students. We believe that this finding is related to the reduction in university enrollment that has occurred since the implementation of new university policies in 2012. In any case, the new conditions do not seem to contribute to solving the problems of efficiency and inequality in Spain's university system.]]></p></abstract>
