Para ello, se realizó una intervención a 84 niños de segundo grado educación básica primaria, quienes recibieron cuatro clases de entrenamiento: de memoria de trabajo, de mindfulness, uno tanto de memoria de trabajo como de mindfulness y otro más de control (sin entrenamiento). Se realizaron pruebas matemáticas y de memoria antes y después de la intervención. Los resultados arrojaron una mejora en la capacidad de memoria de trabajo para los tres grupos experimentales, pero solo un incremento en el rendimiento en pruebas matemáticas para el grupo con entrenamiento de mindfulness. Finalmente, se discuten estos hallazgos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The aim of this study is to evaluate two types of techniques for training working memory and their possible effects on learning mathematics. An intervention was carried out with eighty-four second graders, who participated in four training sessions: working memory, mindfulness, both working memory and mindfulness, and a control group (without training). Tests of mathematics and memory were given before and after the intervention. The results showed improvement in the capacity of working memory for the three experimental groups, but an increase only in mathematical performance for the group that received mindfulness training. The article concludes with a discussion of the findings.]]></p></abstract>
