Se realiza un análisis mixto a través de cuestionarios y del contenido de las comunicaciones del alumnado en chats, foros y correos electrónicos bajo el marco teórico y metodológico de la Community of Inquiry. El estudio aporta el contraste entre los elementos sociales comunicados y la percepción que tiene el alumnado. Los resultados implican que la cohesión del grupo es la categoría más comunicada. En un porcentaje muy inferior se encuentran la comunicación abierta y las muestras de afectividad. El alumnado percibe prácticamente de la misma forma las comunicaciones afectivas y cohesivas del grupo; la abierta es percibida en menor medida.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This study analizes the social elements in virtual communication in Higher Education and the perception of the students about the interaction. A mixed analysis is conducted through questionnaires and content analysis of communications made by students in chats, forums, and emails. This study is based on the theoretical and methodological model Community of Inquiry. This study provided the contrast between the social communicate elements and the perception of the students. The results suggest that cohesion of the group is the category most communicated. In a percentage far lower is the open and affectivity communication. The students perceive in similar percentage the affective and cohesive communication. The open communication is perceived in minor measure.]]></p></abstract>
