El mapeo de contraste propuesto tiene dos finalidades; en primer lugar la mejora de contraste, y en segundo lugar la normalización de la imagen procesada. La mejora de contraste está basada en la detección del fondo de la imagen (background); dicho parámetro se calcula a partir del análisis de los mínimos regionales, los cuales se obtienen por medio de la cerradura morfológica por reconstrucción. Para mostrar el desempeño de la transformación propuesta, algunos ejemplos son presentados. En dichos ejemplos se tratan imágenes con efectos indeseables de iluminación caracterizadas por la presencia de sombras.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[In this paper a contrast operator built by means of two primitives involving Weber's Law is presented. The proposed contrast mapping has two objectives, in the first place the contrast enhancement and in the second, the normalization of the processed image. The contrast enhancement is based on the image background detection; this parameter is computed through the analysis of the regional minimums, which are detected by means of the morphological closing by reconstruction. To show the performance of the proposed transformation, some examples are presented. In the examples some images with undesirable illumination effects characterized by the presence of shades are processed.]]></p></abstract>
