Estos procedimientos se simularon con un modelo del flujo transitorio en canales que resuelve las ecuaciones de Saint-Venant, mediante un esquema implícito de diferencias finitas. Con estos procedimientos se modifican el almacenamiento y el aporte en las mallas vecinas a la estructura de control, la cual puede ser una compuerta, un vertedor, una exclusa o un repartidor de caudal, entre otros. Con estas modificaciones es posible simular maniobras progresivas e instantáneas de las estructuras de control. Se encontró que si la variable a regular es el tirante es recomendable usar la ejecución de maniobra instantánea o la maniobra progresiva con reinicialización de gasto, pero si la variable a regular es el caudal, es preferible la maniobra progresiva con reinicialización de tirante.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract To represent control structures movement in irrigation canals with mathematical modeling, three simulation procedures of structure manipulation that control discharge and water depth were analized. These procedures were simulated with a model of unsteady flow in canals that solves the Saint-Venant equations using an implicit scheme of finite differences. These procedures modify storage and input from mesh adjacent to the control structure, which could be a gate, a spillway, a sluice or a delivery canal, among others. With these modifications it is possible to simulate progressive and instantaneous maneuvering of the control structures. It was found that if the variable to be regulated is the water depth, it is recommended that instantaneous maneuvering or progressive maneuvering be executed with restart of discharge rate, but if the variable to be regulated is head flow, it is preferable to use progressive maneuvering with restart of water depth.]]></p></abstract>
