Las comunidades indígenas que complementan sus actividades productivas con la apicultura. Sin embargo, la mieles que producen carecen de los análisis que establece la normativa mexicana para determinar su origen botánico. El objetivo de este trabajo fue establecer el origen botánico de las mieles producidas en las comunidades de San Miguel y Telcruz y, así, determinar los recursos vegetales importantes para la producción de miel en la región. Se utilizaron sistemas de información geográfica para establecer los tipos de vegetación circundantes a los apiarios. Se cuantificaron los tipos polínicos de 17 muestras de miel cosechadas en otoño de 2018 y 2019, para establecer su origen botánico con base en la NOM-004-SAG/GAN-2018, Producción de miel y especificaciones. Se estimó la riqueza y diversidad &#945; de los tipos políncos, así como la disimilitud en la composición de los conjuntos palinológicos de las mieles. Se detectaron geoecosistemas del tipo vegetación secundaria, bajo uso agropecuario y coberturas vegetales diversas como: bosques mixtos, bosque de pino-encino, matorral-pastizal, entre otros. El origen botánico de las mieles en San Miguel fue: una oligofloral, ocho biflorales y siete estrictamente multiflorales. En Telcruz la miel fue de origen monofloral. Por lo tanto, la composición de los conjuntos palinológicos fue diferente en las mieles de ambas localidades. La riqueza y diversidad &#945; de los tipos polínicos en las mieles de San Miguel, determinó la variación en la clasificación del origen botánico entre las mieles de 2018 y 2019. Es necesario evaluar la contribución Fraxinus y Quercus, como recursos poliníferos en la región.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The Sierra de Manantlán Biosphere Reserve (RBSM) is located in the southern part of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Indigenous communities in this area complement their productive activities with beekeeping. However, the honey they produce lacks the analyses required by Mexican regulations to determine its botanical origin. The objective of this study was to establish the botanical origin of the honey produced in the communities of San Miguel and Telcruz and, in doing so, identify the key plant resources for honey production in the region. Geographic information systems were used to determine the types of vegetation surrounding the apiaries. The pollen types in 17 honey samples harvested in the fall of 2018 and 2019 were quantified to establish their botanical origin based on NOM-004-SAG/GAN-2018, Honey Production and Specifications. The richness and &#945;-diversity of the pollen types were estimated, as well as the dissimilarity in the composition of the palynological assemblages of the honey samples. The identified geoecosystems included secondary vegetation, agricultural land use, and diverse plant cover types such as mixed forests, pine-oak forests, shrub-grassland, among others. The botanical origin of the honey from San Miguel was classified as follows: one oligofloral, eight bifloral, and seven strictly multifloral samples. In Telcruz, the honey was monofloral. Therefore, the composition of the palynological assemblages differed between the honey samples from both locations. The richness and &#945;-diversity of pollen types in the honey from San Miguel influenced the classification of its botanical origin between the 2018 and 2019 samples. It is necessary to evaluate the contribution of Fraxinus and Quercus as pollen resources in the region.]]></p></abstract>
