Agastache mexicana (Kunth) Lint et Epling ssp. mexicana Bye, Linares et Ramamoorthy, conocida como toronjil morado, es una planta endémica de México, ampliamente utilizada para tratar diversos malestares. A pesar de los numerosos estudios sobre sus aplicaciones, la información disponible sobre su reproducción y conservación es limitada. Además, su semilla presenta un bajo porcentaje de germinación (39%), lo que pone en riesgo la permanencia de esta especie en su hábitat natural. Por esta razón, se evaluaron tres fertilizantes orgánicos (lixiviado de lombriz, IMPULSSOOR ROOT y MAXIM) en el crecimiento vegetativo de A. mexicana ssp. mexicana, utilizando un diseño completamente al azar. Las variables evaluadas fueron: altura de planta (AP), número de rizomas (NDR), número de brotes (NDB), peso húmedo (PH), peso seco (PS) y área foliar (AF). Se observaron diferencias significativas (p &#8804; 0.05) en todas las variables evaluadas. El lixiviado de lombriz demostró ser el mejor fertilizante foliar, mostrando un efecto positivo en las variables de A. mexicana ssp. mexicana después de doce semanas de evaluación.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In recent years, the extraction of medicinal plants from the environment has increased considerably, which has affected wild populations. Agastache mexicana (Kunth) Lint et Epling ssp. mexicana Bye, Linares et Ramamoorthy, known as toronjil morado, is an endemic plant of Mexico, widely used to treat various ailments. Despite numerous studies on its applications, the available information on its reproduction and conservation is limited. Additionally, its seeds exhibit a low germination rate (39%), putting the survival of this species in its natural habitat at risk. For this reason, three organic fertilizers (worm leachate, IMPULSSOOR ROOT, and MAXIM) were evaluated in the vegetative growth of A. mexicana ssp. mexicana, using a completely randomized design. The variables evaluated were: plant height (PH), number of rhizomes (NR), number of shoots (NS), fresh weight (FW), dry weight (DW), and leaf area (LA). Significant differences (p &#8804; 0.05) were observed in all evaluated variables. The worm leachate proved to be the best foliar fertilizer, showing a positive effect on the variables of A. mexicana ssp. mexicana after twelve weeks of evaluation.]]></p></abstract>
