Los objetivos fueron estimar la supervivencia y determinar el crecimiento de las variables estructurales de altura total (h), diámetro basal (d 0.10) y diámetro de copa (k) en una reforestación de un año de establecida con labores de mantenimiento utilizando seis especies nativas (Cordia boissieri, Ebenopsis ebano, Havardia pallens, Helietta parvifolia, Prosopis glandulosa y Senegalia berlandieri) del matorral espinoso tamaulipeco del noreste de México. Para determinar si los valores presentaban diferencias estadísticas para los datos paramétricos se utilizó un ANOVA de un factor y para los datos no paramétricos la prueba de H de Kruskal-Wallis. Las pruebas post hoc fue la prueba de Tukey para el ANOVA y la de Games Howell para la prueba de H de Kruskal-Wallis. Las especies no presentaron crecimiento en altura (p&gt;0.05), pero sí en el diámetro basal y cobertura de copa (p&lt;0.05). Las especies que presentaron mayores incrementos en diámetro basal y diámetro de copa fueron Havardia pallens y Cordia boissieri. Todas las especies presentaron una supervivencia mayor al 93% a un año de ser plantadas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract One of the growing activities of ecological restoration in the Tamaulipan thornscrub is reforestation. The objectives were to estimate the survival and determine the growth of the structural variables of total height (h), basal diameter (d 0.10) and crown diameter (k) in a one-year reforestation established with maintenance using six native species (Cordia boissieri, Ebenopsis ebano, Havardia pallens, Helietta parvifolia, Prosopis glandulosa y Senegalia berlandieri) of the Tamaulipan thornscrub of northeastern Mexico. To determine whether the values presented statistical differences for parametric data, a one-way ANOVA was used, and the Kruskal-Wallis H test was used for non-parametric data. The post hoc tests were the Tukey test for the ANOVA and the Games Howell test for the Kruskal-Wallis H test. The species did not show growth in height (p&gt;0.05) but did show growth in basal diameter and canopy cover (p&lt;0.05). The species that presented the greatest increases in basal diameter and crown diameter were Havardia pallens and Cordia boissieri. All species had a survival greater than 93% one year after being planted.]]></p></abstract>
