Una de las razones es el uso de procedencias inadecuadas. Esto influye en la resistencia a frío y sequía, o en la velocidad de crecimiento, por lo que el germoplasma utilizado en reforestaciones debería ser (si es posible) de la misma zona geográfica y altitudinal o de menor altitud que el sitio a reforestar, para compensar los efectos del cambio climático y aumentar la probabilidad de éxito en el establecimiento de individuos. Los objetivos del trabajo se centraron en determinar la variación que existe entre procedencias para rasgos fenotípicos de conos, semillas y acículas; en identificar si esto obedece a un cline ambiental, y en delimitar las zonas provisionales para el abastecimiento de germoplasma. El muestreo se realizó en ocho procedencias naturales de Pinus hartwegii, originadas cada 50 m de diferencia altitudinal, a lo largo de un transecto altitudinal (de 3265 metros a 3650 metros), en el cerro "El Papayo", Ixtapaluca, Estado de México, México. Se analizó la variación entre procedencias y su patrón altitudinal. De las características analizadas (largo y ancho de semilla, largo de cono y longitud mayor de acícula; capacidad y velocidad germinativas) solo el largo de semilla (p = 0.0058) y la capacidad germinativa (p &lt; 0.0001) indicaron diferencias entre procedencias. El patrón de distribución altitudinal resultó ser cuadrático para el largo de semilla (p = 0.0144 y un r2 = 0.88) y para la capacidad germinativa (p = 0.0456 y un r2 = 0.7865). Se delimitaron dos zonas para el abastecimiento y movimiento de germoplasma con anchos de 200 m de altitud y 1 ºC de temperatura media anual. Se estimó un incremento en la temperatura media anual de 2.3 ºC para el año 2060 con un RCP de 6.0 y un movimiento altitudinal ascendente de las poblaciones de 400 m para compensarlo. Finalmente se sugieren lineamientos para el movimiento de germoplasma dentro y entre zonas con y sin considerar el cambio climático.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In Mexico, low plant survival rates in reforestations undermine ecological restoration efforts, despite being a key activity in the recovery of habitats, biodiversity or ecosystem services. One of the reasons is the use of unsuitable provenances. This influences resistance to cold and drought, or the speed of growth, so the germplasm used in reforestations should be (if possible) from the same geographical and altitudinal zone or lower altitude than the site to be reforested, to compensate for the effects of climate change and increase the probability of success in the establishment of individuals. The objectives of the work focused on determining the variation that exists among provenances for phenotypic traits of cones, seeds and needles, on identifying whether this is due to an environmental cline, and on delimiting provisional zones for germplasm supply. Sampling was carried out in eight natural provenances of Pinus hartwegii, originated every 50 m of altitudinal difference, along an altitudinal transect (from 3265 m to 3650 m), in the hill "El Papayo", Ixtapaluca, State of Mexico, Mexico. Variation among provenances and their altitudinal pattern was analyzed. Of the characteristics analyzed (seed length and width, cone length and aculeus length, germination capacity and speed), only seed length (p = 0.0058) and germination capacity (p &lt; 0.0001) indicated differences between provenances. The altitudinal distribution pattern was quadratic for seed length (p = 0.0144 and r2 = 0.88) and germination capacity (p = 0.0456 and r2 = 0.7865). Two zones were delimited for germplasm supply and movement with widths of 200 m altitude and 1 ºC mean annual temperature. An increase in mean annual temperature of 2.3 ºC was estimated for the year 2060 with an RCP of 6.0 and an upward altitudinal movement of the populations of 400 m to compensate for it. Finally, guidelines for germplasm movement within and between zones with and without considering climate change are suggested.]]></p></abstract>
