Pese a ello, apenas se ha estudiado la influencia que la tradición administrativa tiene en los valores y los conflictos de valores en el ámbito profesional. Mientras que algunos sugieren que la tradición administrativa es la clave, otros sostienen que las características profesionales son las que determinan qué valores son importantes y qué conflictos de valores tienen lugar. En este estudio explorativo se comparan las percepciones de profesores procedentes de una universidad holandesa y de otra española. De este modo, se analiza en qué medida los valores y los conflictos derivados de estos cambian entre profesionales que trabajan en el mismo sector, pero que pertenecen a países con diferentes tradiciones. El análisis de los datos metodológicos de Q y de las entrevistas (N = 63) revela similitudes y diferencias entre países, y sugiere que lo que determina qué valores son prioritarios y qué conflictos surgen es el resultado de una combinación de las características profesionales y de la propia tradición administrativa.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The value profiles of public sector workers and the value conflicts they face are dependent on organizational characteristics, it has been suggested. However, little is known about the influence of administrative traditions on these profiles and conflicts in professional settings. Whereas some suggest administrative traditions might be influential, others maintain that professional characteristics determine which values are considered important and which value conflicts are experienced. This exploratory study compares Dutch and Spanish academic teachers in order to empirically assess the extent of any variation in the value profiles and value conflicts of professionals working in the same sector but in countries with different state traditions. The analysis of Q methodological data and interview data (N = 63) reveals similarities as well as differences and suggests that it is an interplay between professional characteristics and a country&#8217;s administrative tradition that determines which values are considered to be important and which conflicts are experienced.]]></p></abstract>
