<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1405-04712024000300102&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1405-04712024000300102&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1405-04712024000300102&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen En la actualidad, el uso de fuerza animal en operaciones forestales se considera una actividad tradicional más que una necesidad tecnológica y en algunos bosques de Durango, México, es posible encontrar áreas donde el arrastre se realiza con ayuda de animales; sin embargo, se desconoce la productividad de esta operación para considerarla una opción tecnológica rentable en la ingeniería forestal moderna. Por lo anterior, el objetivo de este estudio fue conocer el efecto del diámetro de las trozas y las distancias en el rendimiento del arrastre con tracción animal. Para tal efecto se cronometraron 245 ciclos de arrastre, obteniendo el volumen de las trozas por medición directa de los diámetros y la longitud, y registrando el tiempo y la distancia de arrastre; estas variables se dividieron en tres clases diamétricas y tres de distancia. El rendimiento de la operación se obtuvo relacionando el volumen de las trozas con el tiempo total de arrastre. Los resultados mostraron una productividad de 8.49 m3 h-1 a 27.94 m3 h-1 influenciada por el diámetro y la distancia de arrastre, 83% del volumen arrastrado se encontró disperso a un radio de 40 m y, en promedio, se requieren 2.13 minutos para completar un ciclo de trabajo, pero a mayor distancia se requiere el doble de tiempo de arrastre lo que hace que el rendimiento disminuya. Se recomienda realizar el arrastre a distancias no mayores a 50 m para mantener una buena productividad y disminuir el esfuerzo físico y riesgo de lesiones en los animales y operadores.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Currently, the use of animal power in forestry operations is considered more of a tradition than a technological necessity, and in some forests of Durango, Mexico, it is possible to find areas where skidding is carried out with the help of animals; however, the productivity of this operation is unknown to consider it a profitable technological option in modern forestry engineering. Therefore, the objective of this study was to determine the effect of log diameter and distance on skidding yield with animal traction. For this purpose, 245 skidding cycles were timed, the volume of the logs was obtained by direct measurement of the diameters and length; in addition, the skidding time and distances were recorded. These variables were divided into three diameter classes and three classes of distance. The yield of the operation was obtained by relating the volume of the logs with the total time of skidding. The results showed a productivity of 8.49 m3h-1 to 27.94 m3h-1 influenced by the diameter and the skidding distance; 83% of the skidded volume was found dispersed within a radius of 40 meters and on average 2.13 minutes are required to complete a work cycle, but at greater distance, twice time is required, which causes the yield to decrease. It is recommended to carry out skidding at distances no greater than 50 meters to maintain good productivity and reduce physical effort and risk of injury to animals and operators.]]></p></abstract>
