Sin embargo, los procedimientos alrededor del mundo son muchos, en especial en el primer mundo donde la experiencia ya es grande. Las indicaciones para realizar este procedimiento se han ido ampliando en cuanto a especialidades quirúrgicas que lo pueden efectuar, así como al tipo de paciente. En un inicio se empleó en cirugía urológica, en la actualidad el procedimiento robot asistido se está usando en cirugía de mínima invasión en tórax, cirugía oncológica y cirugía general. Por lo tanto, es importante conocer los cambios que estos procedimientos provocan en el paciente anestesiado para poder conducir con buenos resultados el procedimiento anestésico quirúrgico. En el siguiente artículo se presenta un caso de cirugía urológica robot asistida (prostatectomía radical) y se hace una revisión de las consideraciones anestésicas para este tipo de procedimientos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Robotic assisted surgery is a relatively new surgical procedure in our country. However, this type of procedure is already common around the world especially in developed countries where the experience is high. The indications to perform these procedures have been extended in terms of specialties that can perform them as well as the type of patient that can be scheduled to it. Initially robotic assisted surgeries were primarily used in urologic patients but currently it is being used in minimally invasive thoracic, oncological and general surgeries. Therefore, is important to know the physiological changes that these procedures cause in the anesthetized patient in order to successfully conduct the anesthetic plan. In the following article we present a case of robot assisted urological surgery (radical prostatectomy) followed by a literature review of the anesthetic considerations for this type of procedure.]]></p></abstract>
