<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0300-90412024001200501&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0300-90412024001200501&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0300-90412024001200501&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  OBJETIVO: Describir la repercusión de la endometriosis en etapas III-IV en los marcadores de reserva ovárica, cantidad de ovocitos capturados, tasa de implantación, de embarazo clínico y de nacido vivo en comparación con pacientes sin endometriosis.  MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: Estudio de cohorte prospectivo, analítico, efectuado en el Instituto Nacional de Perinatologia Isidro Espinosa de los Reyes entre los meses de enero del 2018 a diciembre del 2023 en pacientes en protocolo de fertilización in vitro o mediante inyección intracitoplasmática. Criterios de inclusión: pacientes con diagnóstico de endometriosis etapa III-IV y endometriomas como grupo de estudio y el control con pacientes con cualquier diagnóstico de infertilidad, excepto endometriosis etapa I-IV.  RESULTADOS: Se estudiaron 178 pacientes con límites de edad de 25 y 42 años; 89 en el grupo de estudio y 89 en el grupo control con cualquier diagnóstico de infertilidad, excepto endometriosis etapa I-IV. Todas las pacientes recibieron ciclos de fertilización in vitro o inyección intracitoplasmática (ICSI). Las concentraciones de hormona antimülleriana (1.6 ± 1.3 vs 2.5 ± 1.4; p &lt; 0.005) y el conteo folicular antral (11.4 ± 8.3 vs 17.5 ± 10.3, p &lt; 0.001) fueron significativamente menores en el grupo con endometriosis etapa III-IV. Se encontraron menos folículos totales (16.2 ± 8.8 vs 23.1± 9.7, p &lt; 0.001) y menos ovocitos capturados (7.3 ± 5.1 vs 10.4 ± 4.6, p &lt; 0.001) lo mismo que menos ovocitos metafase II (6.5 ± 4.7 vs 8.6 ± 4.2, p 0.003). No se observó disminución en la hormona antimülleriana ni en el conteo folicular antral en las pacientes con antecedente quirúrgico de endometrioma o con éste pero sin operar. Las tasas de embarazo fueron similares entre ambos grupos.  CONCLUSIONES: Las pacientes con endometriosis etapa III-IV en tratamiento para reproducción asistida tienen marcadores de reserva ovárica y una respuesta ovárica a la estimulación disminuidos en comparación con quienes tienen otras causas de infertilidad. A pesar de ello las tasas de embarazo en ambos grupos son similares.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  OBJECTIVE: To describe the impact of stage III-IV endometriosis on ovarian reserve markers, number of retrieved oocytes, implantation rate, clinical pregnancy rate, and live birth rate compared to patients without endometriosis.  MATERIALS AND METHODS: Prospective, analytical cohort study at the Instituto Nacional de Perinatologia Isidro Espinosa de los Reyes between the months of January 2018 and December 2023 in patients in in vitro fertilization protocol or by intracytoplasmic injection. Inclusion criteria: patients diagnosed with stage III-IV endometriosis and endometriomas as the study group and the control group patients with any diagnosis of infertility except stage I-IV endometriosis.  RESULTS: 178 patients with age limits of 25 and 42 years were studied; 89 in the study group and 89 in the control group with any diagnosis of infertility except stage I-IV endometriosis. All patients received in vitro fertilization cycles or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Antimüllerian hormone concentrations (1.6 ± 1.3 vs. 2.5 ± 1.4; p &lt; 0.005) and antral follicle counts (11.4 ± 8.3 vs. 17.5 ± 10.3, p &lt; 0.001) were significantly lower in the stage III-IV endometriosis group. Fewer total follicles (16.2 ± 8.8 vs. 23.1 ± 9.7, p &lt; 0.001) and fewer retrieved oocytes (7.3 ± 5.1 vs. 10.4 ± 4.6, p &lt; 0.001) as well as fewer metaphase II oocytes (6.5 ± 4.7 vs. 8.6 ± 4.2, p 0.003) were found. No reduction in anti-müllerian hormone or antral follicle count was observed in patients with a history of endometrioma or with endometrioma but without surgery. Pregnancy rates were similar in both groups.  CONCLUSIONS: Patients with stage III-IV endometriosis undergoing assisted reproductive treatment have decreased ovarian reserve markers and ovarian response to stimulation compared to patients with other causes of infertility. Despite this, pregnancy rates are similar in both groups.]]></p></abstract>
