Los sistemas acuáticos de Tabasco han sido afectados por diversas actividades antropogénicas (Bueno-Soria, et al., 2005), sin embargo, el conocimiento de la entomofauna es incipiente, por tanto, es importante conocer su estado actual en la zona.  Objetivos.  Conocer la distribución, abundancia y diversidad de la entomofauna acuática en los arroyos de Tabasco.  Métodos.  Se realizaron muestreos puntuales, diurnos y multihábitat, con tres réplicas para cada arte de colecta, en 38 localidades durante los años de 2010 a 2013.  Resultados.  La temperatura, oxígeno disuelto, conductividad y la salinidad presentaron diferencias significativas entre municipios (p=0.006). La ordenación de los municipios mediante el análisis de componentes principales se dio primordialmente por la conductividad y el oxígeno disuelto para el primer eje y la profundidad y el pH para el segundo eje, con 60% de la variación total. Se colectaron 5,315 organismos, pertenecientes a 11 órdenes y 56 familias. La mayor diversidad se registró en Tacotalpa, Tenosique y Huimanguillo con una H&#8217;=2.87; H&#8217;=1.09 y H&#8217;=0.5 y 42, 49 y 25 familias respectivamente. Tacotalpa y Tenosique representaron el 78% de la densidad total. En Tacotalpa dominaron: Phylopotamidae, Chironomidae y Caenidae; en Tenosique: Caenidae, Chironomidae y Coenagrionidae; mientras que Cárdenas registró solamente 6 familias, con dominancia de Notonectidae y Baetidae.  Conclusiones.  La mayor cobertura vegetal en Tacotalpa, Tenosique y Huimanguillo fue determinante para una mayor composición y diversidad de la entomofauna; sin embargo, su composición y estructura dependen de múltiples variables bióticas y abióticas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Background.  Aquatic systems of Tabasco have been affected by various anthropogenic activities (Bueno-Soria, et al., 2005), however the knowledge of the aquatic insects is emerging, so it is important to know your current status in the state.  Goals.  To determine the distribution, abundance and diversity of aquatic insect fauna in streams of Tabasco.  Methods.  Samples were conducted at 38 locations during the years 2010 to 2013 in daytime and multihabitat effort.  Results.  Environmental variables as temperature, dissolved oxygen, conductivity and salinity showed significant differences between municipalities with p= 0.006. Principal component analysis ordination by municipalities showed 60% of the total variance explained by conductivity and dissolved oxygen for the first axis and the depth and the pH for the second factor. A total of 5,315 individuals, belonging to 11 orders and 56 families were collected. The highest diversity was recorded in Tacotalpa, Tenosique and Huimanguillo with H&#8217;=2.87; H&#8217;=1.09 and H&#8217;=0.5, and richness were 42, 29 and 25 families respectively, and minimal richens was in Cardenas with six families. Tacotalpa and Tenosique represents 78% of the total density. In Tacotalpa dominated: Phylopotamidae, Chironomidae and Caenidae; Tenosique, Caenidae, Chironomidae and Coenagrionidae. While in Cardenas were Baetidae and Notonectidae.  Conclusions.  Highest riparian vegetation coberture presented in municipalities of Tacotalpa, Tenosique and Huimanguillo regulates insect composition. However the composition and structure of aquatic insects depends on multiple biotic and abiotic variables.]]></p></abstract>
