Este estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar el tamaño del ámbito hogareño invernal (AHI), la densidad poblacional, así como la biomasa de semillas y la cobertura y estructura del suelo de tres sitios utilizados por el gorrión de Baird. También se determinó la relación entre estas variables. El tamaño promedio del AHI fue de 0.042 ha, con una biomasa de semillas en el suelo de 5.65 g/m² y una densidad poblacional de 2.23 ind/ha. Se encontraron correlaciones significativas (Spearman, p &#8804; 0.05) entre el AHI y la biomasa de semillas, aunque estas correlaciones variaron entre los sitios (DOWE rs = -0.90; LALA rs = -0.79; LAPO rs = -0.16). El presente estudio contribuye a nuestro conocimiento de la ecología del Centronyx bairdii. Sin embargo, se reconoce la posibilidad de que existan otras variables no consideradas en el trabajo que puedan influir en el AHI.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Baird's Sparrow is a migratory bird that has experienced a significant reduction in its populations. This study aimed to determine the size of the winter home range (WHR), population density, as well as seed biomass and soil cover and structure at three sites used by Baird's Sparrow. It also determined the relationship between these variables. The average WHR size was 0.042 ha, with a seed biomass in the soil of 5.65 g/m² and a population density of 2.23 individuals/ha. Significant correlations (Spearman, p &#8804; 0.05) were found between WHR and seed biomass, although these correlations varied between sites (DOWE r s = -0.90; LALA r s = -0.79; LAPO r s = -0.16). The present study contributes to our understanding of the ecology of Centronyx bairdii. However, it is acknowledged that there may be other variables not considered in the study that could influence WHR.]]></p></abstract>
