Actualmente se encuentra en peligro de extinción debido, principalmente, al crecimiento de la frontera agrícola, provocando su exposición a diversos químicos, como los plaguicidas aplicados en los cultivos. El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar las heces de individuos de perrito de la pradera mexicano de los estados de Coahuila y Nuevo León para detectar y cuantificar residuos de plaguicidas. Se analizaron un total de 58 muestras por medio de cromatografía líquida de alta eficiencia. Los resultados muestran altas concentraciones de glifosato y metamidofos de 2.50 mg/g-12.7 mg/g y 2.9 mg/g-14.7 mg/g, respectivamente. Estos rangos pueden causar daños en el organismo del perrito de la pradera mexicano, interviniendo en procesos de reproducción e influyendo así en la disminución de sus poblaciones.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The Mexican prairie dog (Cynomys mexicanus) is one of the emblematic and endemic species to northern Mexico, and it is of importance to the ecosystem where it lives (the grasslands). It is currently an endangered species due to the growth of the agricultural frontier, causing its exposure to various chemicals, such as pesticides applied to crops. The objective of this work was to analyze the feces of Mexican prairie dogs from the states of Coahuila and Nuevo León in order to detect and quantify pesticide residues. A total of 58 samples were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography. The results show high concentrations of glyphosate and methamidophos of 2.50 mg/g-12.7 mg/g and 2.9 mg/g-14.7 mg/g, respectively. These ranges can cause damage in the organism of the Mexican prairie dog, interfering in reproduction processes, thus influencing the decrease of their populations.]]></p></abstract>
