En el presente estudio se realizó una descomposición de los factores que determinan la variación anual de las emisiones de CO2, identificando el efecto de cada uno de los subsectores manufactureros de San Luis Potosí, México, durante el periodo 2000-2012. Se utilizó el enfoque Índice Divisia de Media Logarítmica (LMDI, por sus siglas en inglés) para identificar la contribución desagregada de los subsectores manufactureros en la variación de las emisiones, de acuerdo con la ecuación de Kaya. La intensidad energética y el Producto Interno Bruto (PIB) manufacturero fueron los factores de mayor efecto en la variación del CO2, con contribuciones del 53.85% y 37.32% respectivamente. Los subsectores de la fabricación de productos a base de minerales no metálicos, la industria metálica básica y la alimentaria son los que inciden principalmente sobre la dinámica de los factores identificados.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The analysis of the variation of carbon dioxide (CO2) provides useful information for reduction alternatives. In the present study, a decomposition of the factors that determine the annual variation of CO2 emissions was performed, identifying the effect of each of the manufacturing subsectors of San Luis Potosí, Mexico, during the period 2000-2012. The Log Mean Divisia Index (LMDI) approach was used to identify the disaggregated contribution of manufacturing subsectors in the variation of emissions, according to the Kaya equation. Energy intensity and the manufacturing Gross Domestic Product (GDP) were the factors with a greater effect on the variation of CO2, with contributions of 53.85% and 37.32% respectively. The subsectors of manufacturing products based on non-metallic minerals, primary metals industry, and food industry are mainly affecting the dynamics of the factors identified.]]></p></abstract>
