Los resultados del análisis de series de tiempo y el valor de 0.8 (r² - 0.63) del coeficiente de correlación de los valores NDVI del mes de marzo de 1994 con datos de porcentaje de superficie cultivada, se consideran aceptables en este primer estudio, lo que sugiere que la metodología constituye una buena opción para el monitoreo en tiempo real de los cultivos en el NW de México.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[A series of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) maps were produced using AVHRR images for wheat during the crop cycle October 1993-Winter 1994 in the Yaqui valley, Sonora. The results from analysis of the time series and the value of 0.8 for the correlation coefficient (r² - 0.63) between the values of the NDVI map for March 1991 and field data were considered adequate in this first study, which suggests that the methodology represents a useful option for the real-time monitoring of crops in Northwest Mexico.]]></p></abstract>

<body><![CDATA[<p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">Se produjo una serie de compuestos del &iacute;ndice de Vegetaci&oacute;n de la  Diferencia Normalizada (NDVI) usando im&aacute;genes AVHRR del periodo de cultivo de  trigo durante el ciclo oto&ntilde;o 1993&#150;invierno 1994 en el Valle del  Yaqui Sonora.
