Los semivariogramas fueron construidos a partir de un recorte de 100 x 100 pixels de una imagen que cubrió el municipio de Texcoco. Se determinaron tres direcciones (0, 45 y 90 grados) con 0 grados de amplitud y pasos con h=l a 10 pixels, para cada banda y el índice de brillo BNI. Luego, se ajustaron los semivariogramas a modelos polinómicos. Los resultados indicaron que las estructuras espaciales con dirección norte se ajustaron a modelos esféricos (cuadráticos) con un alto nivel de significancia (&#945; < 0.01) y grado de correlación (r &gt; 0.95). Por otro lado, datos mostrados en otro trabajo, indicaron la existencia de estructuras anidadas de orden superior.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Semivariograms were constructed to determine the spatial variability contained in SPOT XS satellite images, in order to assess data redundancy, necessary for estimating land management indicators. Such indicators should therefore have enough sensitivity to detect the sustainability of land use for agricultural purposes. Semivariograms were calculated on a 100 x 100 pixels image portion of Texcoco country. Three directions (0, 45, and 90 degrees) with 0 degrees ot angular ratio search, and lags equal h=l to 10 pixels, were determined for each band and for the Brightness Normalized Index BNI. Further, semivariograms were adjusted to polinomical models. Results showed through high correlation coefficients (r &gt; 0.95) that spatial structures obey (with a very high significance, &#945; < 0.01) to a spherical model in the north direction. On the other hand, results (to be shown in another paper), revealed nested spatial structures when sampling with larger lags.]]></p></abstract>

<body><![CDATA[<p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">El  objetivo del estudio fue determinar la variabilidad espacial contenida en las  im&aacute;genes SPOT XS, a partir de semivariogramas, con el fin de cuantificar la  redundancia de informaci&oacute;n que permitiera estimar &iacute;ndices de manejo; para  determinar con suficiente sensibilidad, la eficiencia de uso de los recursos  naturales en la planificaci&oacute;n agr&iacute;cola. Los semivariogramas fueron construidos  a partir de un recorte de 100 x 100 pixels de una imagen  que cubri&oacute; el municipio de Texcoco.
