Resumen
Este trabajo tiene como objetivo examinar el impacto de la presencia de la empresa Outokumpu Oy, en cuanto a la venta de maquinaria y tecnología, en diversos sitios mineros del país. Se presenta una breve historia de la referida empresa, se describen las características de la creación de tecnología para la extracción mineral y su transformación en metales, y se expone, en la última parte, la vertiente espacial de la presencia de Outokumpu Oy en México, a mediados de la década de los noventa.
]]>Abstract
This paper examines the territorial impact of the presence of the Finnish mining company, Outokumpu Oy, in the mining sector of Mexico. The papers describes the expansion of the company, beyond the limits of Finland, the development of mining technology achieved by Outokumpu Oy and how this derives into the selling of specific mining techniques and machinery to different countries, Mexico included. The final part of the paper deals with the issue of the territorial presence of Outokumpu Oy in the Mexican mines.
