Un 16% de los terrenos metamórficos y un 4.5% de los volcánicos están severamente erosionados. En total, un 5% de la cuenca está seriamente degradada. La mayor parte de la erosión ocurre en zonas acumulativas, en terrenos ondulados, con pendientes de suaves a moderadas y suelos arcillosos moderadamente profundos a profundos. El principal factor de diferenciación de los patrones erosivos en las zonas volcánicas y las no volcánicas es la hidrología de las vertientes (flujos superficiales en el metamórfico vs flujos subsuperficiales en el volcánico).]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[An inventory of the anthropic erosion in the Tlalpujahua river basin, based upon an applied geomorphological approach, is presented 16% of the metamorphic terrain and 4.5% of the volcanic terrain are severely eroded. As a whole, 5% of the catchment is badly affected. Most of the erosion processes occurs in areas of accumulation, in ondulating terrains, gently sloping to sloping, with moderately deep to deep clayey soils. The main differentiating factor among the erosion patterns in the volcanic and non volcanic terrains is the slope hydrology (superficial flows in the metamorphics vs subsuperficial flows in the volcanics).]]></p></abstract>
