Para evaluarla, se estima un modelo econométrico con datos de panel cuyos resultados sugieren una importancia relativa del crecimiento de la industria automotriz en la explicación de la dinámica del producto manufacturero.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This paper analyzes the gradual concentration of the automotive industry in four specific regions of Mexico and argues that it has played a central role in the impulse of the manufacturing production in the states where this one has become one of the most important activities as measured by its contribution to the state GDP, the national manufacturing production and the generation of employment. To test this hypothesis, a panel data econometric model is estimated; the results suggest a relative importance of the growth of the automotive industry in explaining the dynamics of the manufacturing output.]]></p></abstract>
