Se analizaron empíricamente las narrativas de 32 adolescentes inmigrantes de secundaria, escolarizados en Andalucía (España). Los resultados revelan que la distancia entre capitales culturales se traduce en barreras lingüísticas, comunicativas e institucionales. En tanto estrategias, se evidencia el apoyo familiar en la construcción de un proyecto educativo, el papel de cierto profesorado que refuerza su capital cultural de origen, y una aculturación selectiva para fortalecer el capital social.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Based on Dubet, Martuccelli and Bourdieu, this study analyzes how immigrant students construct their educational experience and the role that cultural and social capital play in it. Empirically, the narratives of 32 immigrant teenagers from secondary schooling in Andalusia (Spain) were analyzed. The results show that the distance between cultural capitals translates into linguistic, communicative, and institutional barriers. The strategies identified include family support, which is evident in the construction of an educational project; the role of certain teachers who reinforce their cultural capital of origin; and a selective acculturation to strengthen social capital.]]></p></abstract>
