Objective:  To assess whether invasive angioplasty treatment is effective in patients with unstable angina more than 12 hours of evolution.  Material and methods:  Observational, descriptive, correlational cross-sectional study of prevalence, comprised of clinical records of 283 patients who underwent angioplasty is the period 2012-2015. Demographic and clinical characteristics were recorded, medication use. Results were analyzed during the hospital stay and late one month, 6 months and one year.  Results:  The universe consisted of 283 patients admitted to the emergency area for acute coronary syndrome who underwent the treatment of invasive angioplasty. The sample consists of 99 patients diagnosed with unstable angina of more than 12 hours of evolution, of which 75 (75.8%) are male; 24 (24.2%) are female. The post-intervention complications were, on average, 24.24%, with a mortality rate of less than 1%.  Conclusion:  This study confirms that angioplasty is effective for treating patients with unstable angina with a clinic more than 12 hours of evolution therapeutic procedure.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: Pacientes con síntomas de angina inestable que acuden al área de emergencia, vienen con un cuadro clínico de más de 12 horas de evolución y se someten a este tipo de tratamiento para mejorar su clínica.  Objetivo:  Evaluar si el tratamiento invasivo de angioplastia es eficaz en pacientes con angina inestable de más de 12 horas de evolución.  Material y métodos:  Estudio observacional, descriptivo, correlacional transversal de la prevalencia, compuesto por registros clínicos de 283 pacientes sometidos a angioplastia, es el periodo 2012-2015. Se registraron características demográficas y clínicas, uso de medicamentos. Los resultados se analizaron durante la estancia hospitalaria y al final de un mes, 6 meses y un año.  Resultados:  El universo consistió en 283 pacientes ingresados en el Área de Urgencia por síndrome coronario agudo que se sometieron al tratamiento de angioplastia invasiva. La muestra consta de 99 pacientes con angina inestable de más de 12 horas de evolución, de los cuales 75 (75.8%) son varones; 24 (24.2%) son mujeres. Las complicaciones posteriores a la intervención fueron, en promedio, del 24.24%, con una tasa de mortalidad inferior al 1%.  Conclusión:  Este estudio confirma que la angioplastia es eficaz para el tratamiento de pacientes con angina inestable con un tratamiento clínico de más de 12 horas de evolución.]]></p></abstract>
