Para ello se desarrolló una experiencia de clase que consistió en observar un vídeo del fenómeno elaborado por los autores y se desarrolló un cuestionario. La experiencia se desarrollo en tres momentos, y cuestiona sobre cómo y por qué sucede el fenómeno a nivel molecular. Participaron 37 estudiantes de 8º semestre de la Licenciatura en Ciencias Naturales de una universidad colombiana. Se observó que los estudiantes asocian sus contestaciones a conceptos de flujo de calor, cinética molecular y cambio de estado del material que se aluden a causas. Dentro de las dificultades sobresalen la limitación para describir el fenómeno temporalmente, de manera que se haga evidente las actividades de las entidades y su organización.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This study identifies the concepts that students use to explain the Mpemba effect and describes their difficulties in explaining it causally. For this, a class experience consisting of a video of the phenomenon was developed with questions, divided into three moments, about how and why the phenomenon occurs at the molecular level. 37 students from the 8th semester of the Natural Sciences Degree from a Colombian university participated. It was observed that the students associate their answers to concepts of heat flow, molecular kinetics and change of state of the material that are alluded to with causes. Among the difficulties, the limitation to describe the phenomenon temporarily stands out, so that the activities of the entities and their organization become evident.]]></p></abstract>
