El objetivo del presente estudio fue evaluar el efecto de diferentes dosis de radiación (0-200 Gy) sobre variables fenológicas (días a germinación, floración y cuajado) y físicas del fruto (peso, diámetros, color, materia seca) en cuatro ecotipos de uchuva: Chiclayo, Colombia, Sacha y Modificada. Se utilizó un diseño completamente al azar con arreglo factorial, siendo los factores de estudio los ecotipos y las dosis de irradiación. El análisis mostró efectos significativos (P &#8804; 0.05) de los ecotipos, las dosis y su interacción en la mayoría de las variables. Dosis intermedias (50-150 Gy) promovieron la precocidad y aumentaron el peso, tamaño y coloración de los frutos, mientras que las dosis más altas (175-200 Gy) incrementaron el contenido de materia seca en ecotipos específicos. Los ecotipos Sacha y Modificada mostraron mejor respuesta en rendimiento y precocidad, mientras que Chiclayo destacó en acumulación de sólidos. La interacción genotipos × dosis fue determinante en todos los casos, mostrando respuestas diferenciadas. Los resultados evidencian el potencial de la mutagénesis física como estrategia para mejorar la calidad y productividad del cultivo de uchuva, dependiendo de combinaciones apropiadas de dosis-variedad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary Irradiation with 60Co is a useful tool for breeding Physalis peruviana L., as it induces variability in physiological and physical traits. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of different radiation doses (0-200 Gy) on phenological traits (days to germination, flowering and fruit set) and physical traits of the fruit (weight, diameters, color and dry matter) in four ecotypes of cape gooseberry: Chiclayo, Colombia, Sacha and Modificada. A completely randomized design with factorial arrangement was used with the studied factors being ecotypes and irradiation doses. The analysis showed significant effects (P &#8804; 0.05) of ecotypes, doses and their interaction in most traits. Intermediate doses (50-150 Gy) promoted earliness and increased fruit weight, size and color intensity, while higher doses (175-200 Gy) increased dry matter content in specific ecotypes. Sacha and Modificada ecotypes showed better response for yield and earliness, whereas Chiclayo excelled in solids accumulation. The genotypes × doses interaction was determinative in all cases, revealing differentiated responses. Results showed the potential of physical mutagenesis as a strategy to improve fruit quality and crop productivity, depending on appropriate dose-variety combinations.]]></p></abstract>
