Con el objetivo de estimar efectos de aptitud combinatoria general y específica (ACG y ACE) y heterosis, se evaluaron 14 poblaciones de maíz Cacahuacintle y sus cruzamientos en un arreglo dialélico diseño II de Griffing. El estudio se realizó durante el ciclo agrícola 2020 en Ayapango y Montecillo, Estado de México e Ixtenco, Tlaxcala, México bajo un diseño experimental de bloques completos al azar. Se detectaron diferencias significativas (Tukey, &#8804; 0.05) en las variables evaluadas entre los progenitores, las cruzas y la interacción de ambos con el ambiente. Los efectos de ACG mostraron diferencias significativas en cada variable, mientras que los efectos de ACE no presentaron significancia para días a floración masculina. Se encontró que los efectos de ACG fueron más importantes que los de ACE en todas las variables estudiadas. Efectos de ACG significativos se identificaron en los progenitores I4, I6, C2, S2, Y6 y S5 para menor altura de planta (S2 = -12.2 y S5 = -8.7), precocidad (S2 = -3.5 y S5 = -3.0), tamaño de grano (Y6 = 0.3 y C2 = 0.6) y rendimiento de grano (I4 = 398.2 e I6 = 137.5). Las cruzas A3 × I4, I4 × Y2 y S5 × Y6 destacaron por sus efectos de ACE (1099.2, 1077.6 y 1160.4 respectivamente) y valores de heterosis con respecto al progenitor medio para rendimiento de grano (&#8805; 92.2 %) y caracteres de planta: -2.0 % en altura de la planta, 13.3 % en longitud de mazorca y 9.7 % en longitud del grano. Las poblaciones del Estado de México, Puebla y Tlaxcala poseen características relevantes para su incorporación en programas de mejoramiento genético de maíz Cacahuacintle.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary Estimation the genetic parameters of a population is an important aspect in the design of a breeding program. With the aim of estimating general and specific combining ability (GCA and SCA) and heterosis effects, 14 populations of Cacahuacintle maize and their crosses were evaluated in a Griffing design II diallelic arrangement. The study was carried out during the 2020 growing season in Ayapango and Montecillo, State of Mexico and Ixtenco, Tlaxcala, Mexico under a randomized complete block experimental design. Significant differences were detected (Tukey, &#8804; 0.05) in the traits evaluated between parents, crosses and the interaction of both with the environment. The effects of GCA showed significant differences in each traits, while the effects of SCA had no significance for days to male flowering. It was found that the effects of GCA were more important than those of SCA in all variables studied. Significant GCA effects were identified in parents I4, I6, C2, S2, Y6 and S5 for lower plant height (S2 = -12.2 and S5 = -8.7), earliness (S2 = -3.5 and S5 = -3.0), grain size (Y6 = 0.3 and C2 = 0.6) and grain yield (I4 = 398.2 and I6 = 137.5). Crosses A3 × I4, I4 × Y2 and S5 × Y6 stood out for their effects of SCA (1099.2, 1077.6 and 1160.4, respectively) and heterosis values with respect to the mean parent for grain yield (&#8805; 92.2 %) and plant traits: -2.0 % for plant height, 13.3 % for ear length and 9.7 % for grain length.
