<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0187-73802023000200095&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0187-73802023000200095&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0187-73802023000200095&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen En el trópico seco mexicano existen diversas especies herbáceas nativas utilizadas para la alimentación de rumiantes, de las que poco se conoce sobre su producción de forraje y calidad nutricional, que pueden integrarse a sistemas de producción como especies cultivadas; entre estas especies se encuentran Crotalaria incana L., Cassia obtusifolia L. (McVaugh, 1987) y Senna uniflora (Mill.) H. S.Irwin &amp; Barneby (leguminosas herbáceas anuales), las cuales se evaluaron productiva y nutricionalmente en dos experimentos de campo durante 2016 y 2017 en un diseño experimental completamente al azar con cuatro repeticiones. Los cortes de forraje se realizaron cada 10 días en 2016 y cada 15 días en 2017. Se evaluó la producción de materia seca (MS) de hoja y tallo, altura de planta, fibra detergente neutro (FDN), fibra detergente ácido (FDA), lignina, digestibilidad in vitro (DIVMS) y proteína cruda (PC). La máxima acumulación de MS en el ciclo 2016 ocurrió 50 días después de la emergencia de plántulas (dde) para C. obtusifolia (17,241 kg ha-1) y 70 dde para C. incana y S. uniflora (17,604 y 13,981 kg ha-1, respectivamente). En 2017, las máximas acumulaciones ocurrieron a los 70 dde para S. uniflora (8292 kg ha-1), a los 120 días para C. obtusifolia (17,027 kg ha-1) y a los 135 días para C. incana (9680 kg ha-1), respectivamente. La DIVMS, tanto en 2016 como 2017, fue diferente entre especies (P &#8804; 0.0001); en C. obtusifolia fue 91.9 y 94.4 %, respectivamente, mientras C. incana y S. uniflora tuvieron 88.7 y 86.5 % en 2016, y 90.4 y 87.3 % en 2017. Las especies difirieron en PC (P &#8804; 0.0001), C. incana tuvo 27.4 y 21.9 % en dichos ciclos, C. obtusifolia y S. uniflora tuvieron 22.1 y 21.8 % en 2016, y 11.2 y 13.4 % en 2017, respectivamente. En conclusión, C. obtusifolia y C. incana mostraron el mejor comportamiento productivo y nutritivo, aunque las tres especies pueden contribuir en cantidad y calidad a la alimentación de rumiantes.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary In the Mexican dry tropics there are several native herbaceous species used for feeding ruminants, of which little is known about their forage production and nutritional quality, which can be integrated into production systems as cultivated species; among these species are Crotalaria incana L., Cassia obtusifolia L. (McVaugh, 1987) and Senna uniflora (Mill.) H. S.Irwin &amp; Barneby (annual herbaceous legumes) which were evaluated productively and nutritionally in two field experiments during 2016 and 2017 in a completely randomized experimental design with four replications. Forage cuts were carried out every 10 days in 2016 and every 15 days in 2017. Dry matter production (DM) of leaf and stem, plant height, neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), lignin, in vitro digestibility (IVDMS) and crude protein (CP) were measured. The maximum accumulation of DM in the 2016 cycle occurred at 50 days after seedling emergence (dase) for C. obtusifolia (17,241 kg ha-1) and 70 dase for C. incana and S. uniflora (17,604 and 13,981 kg ha-1, respectively).
