This study introduces a novel framework that defines previously diffuse regional boundaries, revealing the dynamic nature of precipitation patterns across the country. The findings demonstrate how regional boundaries shift in response to ENSO phases, as well as under climatology and neutral conditions. These insights highlight the importance of considering dynamic regionalization to accurately analyze climatic impacts and precipitation variability, providing a foundation for more effective climate adaptation strategies.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN La regionalización de la precipitación es una herramienta fundamental para comprender los fenómenos hidrológicos, particularmente en el contexto de las fases del fenómeno El Niño-Oscilación del Sur (ENOS) (El Niño, La Niña y neutral), y su climatología en Guatemala. Este estudio introduce un marco novedoso que define límites regionales previamente difusos, revelando la naturaleza dinámica de los patrones de precipitación en el país. Los resultados demuestran cómo los límites regionales se desplazan en respuesta a las fases de ENOS, así como en condiciones de climatología y neutral. Estos hallazgos destacan la importancia de considerar la regionalización dinámica para analizar con precisión los impactos climáticos y la variabilidad de la precipitación, proporcionando una base para estrategias más efectivas de adaptación climática.]]></p></abstract>
