La fertilización balanceada se emplea como alternativa para atenuar los daños. El objetivo fue estudiar el efecto de la fertilización en el estatus nutrimental de árboles de naranjo &#8216;Marrs&#8217; con síntomas asociados a VTC y HLB y la composición mineral de los frutos. El estudio se realizó de agosto 2019 a diciembre 2020 en una plantación comercial con árboles de seis años. Previo a la fertilización, se realizó diagnóstico nutrimental implementando los índices DOP. El diseño experimental fue bloques al azar en arreglo de parcelas divididas, con tres repeticiones. Las variables fueron: estatus nutrimental del árbol, deficiencias nutrimentales en hoja y composición mineral del fruto. El método DOP detectó que el Zn &gt; Mn &gt; Cu &gt; B &gt; P &gt; Mg &gt; Fe &gt; K &gt; N &gt; S fueron los minerales más requeridos; los índices para el N, S, Zn y Mn disminuyen en los árboles con síntomas ligeros y avanzados. La fertilización química foliar promovió el desarrollo de brotes vegetativos sin deficiencias nutrimentales durante la floración y amarre de fruto. Sin embargo, una sequía atípica durante la fructificación afectó la respuesta de los árboles a los tratamientos, presentándo síntomas de deficiencias de Zn y Mn, combinadas con moteado clorótico asimétrico en la lámina foliar asociados a VTC y HLB. La composición mineral en los frutos fue deficiente con excepción del P, Ca y Cu.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary: The incidence of citrus tristeza virus (CTV) and Huanglongbing (HLB) are associated with nutritional imbalance, the presence of symptoms in the tree canopy and low orange production. Balanced fertilization is used as an alternative to mitigate damage. The objective of our study was to assess the fertilization effects in nutritional status of &#8216;Marrs&#8217; orange trees with symptoms associated with CTV and HLB, and the mineral composition of the fruits. The study was conducted of August 2019 to December 2020 in a commercial plantation with six-year-old trees. Before fertilization, implementing the DOP indices carried out a nutritional diagnosis. The experimental design used was random blocks in split plot arrangement, with three replications. The variables were: nutritional status of the tree, nutritional deficiencies in the leaf, and mineral composition of the fruit. The DOP method detected that Zn &gt; Mn &gt; Cu &gt; B &gt; P &gt; Mg &gt; Fe &gt; K &gt; N &gt; S were the most required minerals; indices for N, S, Zn, and Mn show a tendency to decrease in trees with mild and advanced symptoms. Chemical foliar fertilization promoted the development of vegetative shoots without nutritional deficiencies during flowering and fruit set. However, an atypical drought during fruiting affected the trees&#8217; response to the treatments. The trees presented symptoms of Zn and Mn deficiencies, combined with asymmetric chlorotic mottling in the leaf blade associated with CTV and HLB. Overall, the mineral composition of the fruits was deficient except for P, Ca, and Cu.]]></p></abstract>
