El objetivo fue evaluar el efecto de lodos residuales de diferente tiempo de almacenamiento y proporciones lodo:vegetal en el contenido de cenizas, C orgánico, N total, relación C/N, pH y salinidad en compostaje aérobico. Las proporciones lodo: vegetal fueron 1:1, 1:2 y 1:3 m3 en pilas 5 × 1.5 × 0.5 m, con manejo de riegos y aireación semanal; se utilizó un diseño experimental completamente al azar con arreglo factorial y cinco repeticiones; se monitoreo la temperatura, humedad y oxígeno durante un período de 20 semanas. El pH mayor registrado fue 6.89 en el tratamiento lodo nuevo 1:1, mientras el menor de 6.36 fue en lodo apilado con la misma relación 1:1, lo cual fue inversamente a los niveles de salinidad detectados de 12.3 y 13.7 mS cm-1. El C orgánico mayor fue en los lodos apilados con más de 12 meses en las relaciones 1:2 y 1:3, mientras que los valores menores fueron en los lodos nuevos. Se encontró diferencia significativa (P &lt; 0.05) para el efecto del tipo de lodo residual en el porcentaje de cenizas, materia orgánica, C orgánico y la relación C/N, pero no se detectó efecto significativo para el N total. Las relaciones lodo-vegetal evaluadas solo resultaron significativas para la relación C/N. El C orgánico presento una reducción de 73, 66 y 51% en los lodos nuevo, medio y apilado de mayor tiempo, esto como producto del proceso de descomposición. El aprovechamiento de la composta conforme la norma NMX-AA-180-SCFI-2018, indica que de acuerdo con los niveles de los parámetros evaluados tiene utilidad como mejorador de suelo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary: The need to use residual sludge from wastewater treatment and residues from gardens pruning to produce composts are strategic to soil improvement and water saving. The objective was to evaluate the effect of residual sludge and plant material ratios on content of ash, organic C, total N, C:N ratio, pH and electrical conductivity during aerobic composting. The sludge and wood chips proportions were 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 m3, in piles of 5 × 1.5 × 0.5 m, irrigation management and aeration were per week. A completely randomized experiment design with factorial arrangement and five replications was conducted. Temperature, water content and oxygen were monitored over a period of 20 weeks. The highest pH was 6.89 in treatment with new sludge 1:1, and the lowest pH was 6.36 in piled sludge for same relation 1:1, these was inversely to salinity levels detected of 12.3 and 13.7 mS cm-1. The highest organic C was in sludge stacked with more than 12 months in the 1:2 and 1:3 ratios, while the lowest values were in the new sludge. A significant difference (P &lt; 0.05) was found for the effect of type of sludge on the percentage of ash, organic matter, organic C and C/N ratio, but no significant effect for total N. The proportions residual sludge and wood chips were only significant for C/N ratios. The content of Organic C decreased in 73%, 66%, and 51% for the new, medium and stacked sludge, as a product of the decomposition process. The use of compost, according to the NMX-AA-180-SCFI-2018 standards indicates that, compost can be used as a good soil amendment.]]></p></abstract>
